This is a one-page, signed and dated manuscript by Charles Bukowski.
Interestingly, the poem did not appear in the Bukowski book “On Drinking” and remains unpublished, according to Abel Debritto's landmark book, Every Piece of the Puzzle.
The manuscript is a file copy, but is hand-signed and dated by Charles Bukowski.
Once he began working with Black Sparrow Press publisher John Martin in the late 1960s, Bukowski began to keep carbons or copies of the poems he sent out to magazines for publication. Martin would collect the poems and once he had enough quality poems to fill a book, he would publish one. For whatever reason, Martin chose not to publish this poem.
The letter of authenticity comes from Scott Harrison of Abandoned Planet Bookstore. Harrison was a friend of Martin’s and has a strong reputation among Bukowski collectors for selling authentic manuscripts.
There is a light crease on the lower-left corner but is otherwise in Fine condition.
