The May 1990 issue of Northwest Extra! features a Robert Crumb Drawing of Charles Bukowski on the cover and the Charles Bukowski poem, between races. A Bukowski drawing accompanies the poem.
The poem would later be collected in The Last Night of the Earth Poems.
This issue also features a column by Hunter S. Thompson titled, “Community of Whores”.
There is also a lengthy piece by Harvey Pekar titled, "Getting the Message Out!".
And finally an advertisement for "Meet the Beats", a book from the legendary Jeff Weinberg from Water Row Books that features a Bukowski drawing on the cover.
This copy was never folded and is in Near Fine + condition.
Northwest Extra! Was a high-quality zine published out of Seattle in the early 1990s. It was printed in a tabloid newspaper format and most copies you come across were folded because of its size.
