Down Here 1 -- Nine Bukowski Letters in Correspondence with Tom McNamara (1965)
Though he wrote novels, short stories and poems, some of Bukowski’s best work came in the form of letters. Anyone who has enjoyed reading Bukowski’s fiction will find these writings just as enjoyable.
Published in 1966, Down Here Vol., No1., features the 1965 correspondence between Charles Bukowski and Tom McNamara. There are nine Bukowski letters with responses from McNamar, spanning 30 pages.
Contributors include Charles Bukowski, John Wieners, Alden Van Buskirk, Ruth Krauss, Ray Bremser, Will Inman, Jack Micheline, George and Mike Kuchar (Kuchar Brothers interview), et al.
Included is an insert from Tompkins Square Books, which published Down Here.
This copy is in Very Good ++ condition with some creases to the top and bottom of the covers.
All in all, a nice copy of this short-lives magazine that was edited by Michael Perkins out of New York.
