The May 1970 issue of Fling (Vo. 13, No. 2) features the Charles Bukowski short story, A Lady of Soul.

This short story appears to be uncollected in any books.

Illustrations for this story were done by George Klauba, a self-taught fine artist who is still working today. He attended Chicago's American Academy of Art and spent 27 years as a graphic designer at the Chicago Sun-Times. He eventually became disillusioned with commercial art and turned to the Fine Arts, concentrating on painting.

Magazine is in Near Fine-minus condition with some light general wear and a sticker (probably original) on the front cover, some foxing to the rear cover, and the pages appear to have been slightly off when stapled.

Fling was another attempt to follow Hugh Hefner’s success. It was founded in 1957 by Relim Publishing Company out of Chicago. Bukowski short stories appeared in at least 10 issues of Fling between 1970-1986.
