The Bluebird broadside was issued for friends of the Black Sparrow Press on the occasion of the San Francisco Bay Area Book Festival in 1991.
Supposedly 3,000 copies of the broadside were printed, but it’s one of the rarer Black Sparrow broadsides, perhaps because the poem is so popular. The broadside measures approximately 9.5” x 13”.
It came from estate of Red Stodolsky, owner of Baroque Book Store and a close friend of Charles Bukowski.
This copy is in Near Fine-minus condition with a light crease on the upper left and another light horizontal crease near the line “and it’s nice enough to” in the poem.
Designed by Barbara Martin and printed by Graham Mackintosh
One of Bukowski’s most quoted poems.
