Men’s Lib Poster by Charles Bukowski (17” x 11”): Pearl 1988
This is a well-produced reproduction of Charles Bukowski’s “Men’s Lib Poster”.
The reproduction was published in 1998 by Pearl magazine, which featured Bukowski in seven issues between 1978-1993. In addition to poems, Bukowski also contributed many drawings to the magazine.
This is a large reproduction, measuring 17” x 11”. It’s printed on a nice heavy stock.
I’ve only seen one other copy of the poster, which I owned for a time and had some water damage.
This copy is in Near Fine condition with a very light crease to the upper right with a tiny bump. There is also a tiny bump on the upper left. The other two corners are sharp.
Pearl was published by Joan Jobe Smith. She had what she says was a plutonic relationship with Bukowski, starting while he was still dating Linda King. She published Pearl for over 40 years and also published four issues of The Bukowski Review. She’s written several books on Bukowski, including her own memoir, Tales of an Ancient Go-Go Girl.
