L.A. Anthology of Poets: Charles Bukowski As Publisher, Editor and Writer with Four First Appearance Poems
In the late 1960s and early 1970s, Bukowski and Neeli Cherry started their own publishing house, Laugh Literary, which published three issues of Laugh Literary and Man the Humping Guns.
Around the time of the third and final issue, Bukowski and Cherry teamed up with poet Paul Vangelisti to publish this chapbook: L.A. Anthology of Poets.
The shared publishing house was Laugh Literary/Red Hill Press. Bukowski even includes his DeLongpre address as the company address on the final page.
The chapbook includes four previously published classic Bukowski poems:
Bukowski also contributes a great three-page introduction.
There is also a great photograph of the contributors on the front steps of what looks like a university building.
Other poets include Jack Hirschman, Linda King, Neeli Cherry, Gerald Locklin, Steve Richmond, and John Thomas.
