Coast Vol. 11 -- Charles Bukowski Reviews Ernest Hemmingway Novel (1970)

Published in 1970, Coast Vol. 11 featured Charles Bukowski’s review of Ernest Hemmingway’s last book, “The Impotence OF Being Ernest”.

It’s a harsh review and Bukowski soon came to regret writing it. After all, Hemmingway was one of his heroes, a fellow boxer who he wanted to beat to become the next World Champion.

In letters and poems that would follow, Bukowski would openly beat himself up over the review. And reading it today, you can see similarities of the two writers as they aged.

This copy is in Very Good + condition with lots of rubbing to the covers, a few chips, a crease to the lower right front cover.
