Charles Bukowski: A Sure Bet by Gerald Locklin (Hardcover)
Charles Bukowski: A Sure Bet by Gerald Locklin (Hardcover)
This hardcover book was published in 1996 by the legendary Jeffrey Weinberg of Water Row Books.
With a Robert Crumb drawing of Bukowski on the cover, the book features a collection of essays, memoirs, and reviews about the life and work of writer and friend, Charles Bukowski. In this 70-page collection, Gerald Locklin shares some key Bukowski moments - meeting Bukowski, attending the premier of the film Barfly with Bukowski, and a first-hand account of Bukowski's funeral.
Locklin was a poet, professor of English at California State University, Long Beach, and the poetry editor of Chiron Review, in which Bukowski often appeared. His first poem was published in Marvin Malone’s Wormwood Review and he appeared in many of the same poetry journals as Bukowski during the 1970s.
This copy is in Near Fine condition with a chip on the rear interior marble boards. There are some light scratches to the coating on the covers, and the title page has a crease.
