This is a beautiful folio with eight broadsides produced by Jim Camp of Synaesthesia Press.

Published in 2003, this is the first issue of Volta Camp, produced by Camp as a homage to Wallace Berman. Camp described the folio as “mail art”.

It includes a small, three-line broadside featuring a 1963 Charles Bukowski poem.

Camp had previously gotten his knuckles slapped by Black Sparrow Publisher John Martin in 1995 for producing 4 Poets, a chapbook with Bukowski drawings and an essay. So my assumption is that he got Martin’s permission for the Bukowski broadside in the folio, even though it was distributed for free to “the friends, the enemies, and the heroes of the synaesthesia press." No copies we for sale.

Contents include poems by Charles Bukowski, Richard Brautigan, Tsaurah Litzsky, Henry Denander, and Alan Catlin. It also includes a Billy Childish woodcut that was originally created for Barry Gifford's "The Strangest One of All". There is also an assemblage/found piece by Jim Pritchard.

In all, there are eight pieces plus the original mailing envelope, which is initialed by Camp.

Contents are in Fine condition.
