This small booklet was printed in 1977 to celebrate The Opening of Maurice F. Neville Rare Books. Neville was an early supporter of Bukowski’s work and his bookstore went on to become a Las Angeles institution.
While the unsigned copies are fairly common, this is one of only 75 copies signed by Charles Bukowski on the back cover.
It features Bukowski’s poem, What They Want. It is printed on heavy stock and has a deckled edge.
What’s special about items like this is that Bukowski actually handled the booklet while signing it, unlike the signed pages in Black Sparrow Press books that were later inserted as part of the binding process.
This copy is in Near Fine condition other than an unfortunate pencil price on the upper left cover.

Mike is passionate and fascinating. I bought him the 1968 vinyl "Poetry" with Steve Richmond, one of the rarest items related to Buk. I'm so happy.
Bukowski wall to wall. If you are a fan, and if you weren't why would you be here this is the best and only place for The Poet Laureate of Skid row.
