This is an early 1961 appearance by Charles Bukowski in the magazine Venture.

Bukowski contributes one poem, Serligev, which has never been collected in any book.

In 1959 Bukowski submitted a poem entitled "The Way to Review a Play and Keep Everybody Happy But Me" to a literary magazine, "Gusher". The magazine ignored his request, so Bukowski retyped it, changed its name to Serligev", and submitted it to Venture magazine, where it was published in this issue. However, "Gusher" also published it without notifying Bukowski, so the same poem with different titles and noticeable changes appeared in both magazines at the same time.

The magazine also contains "Mott the Hoople: Chapter from a novel in work" from Willard Manus. This is five years before the novel was actually published.

This issue also contains two poems from William Corrington.

This copy is in Near Fine-minus condition with two stains on the front cover and wear to both covers.
