Two Charles Bukowski Poems in German in ACID (1969)

Published in March 1969, this 400-plus page German anthology was titled New American Scene and was edited by RD Brinkmann and RR Rygulla. It contains numerous illustrations based on drawings, photographs and collages. This is the black original first edition with cutouts/punchouts on the front cover. According to the March publisher Jörg Schröder, the more common later editions had a yellow cover.

In Germany during the late 1960s, this publication was considered to be the most important anthology of the American pop and underground scene.

Bukowski’s contributions (which appear in German) include At The End Of Feet The Blackbird Walks and Lilies In My Brain, both of which previously appeared in Crucifix in a Deathhand (1965).

Other contributors include Ed Sanders, Frank O'Hara, Anne Waldman, William S. Burroughs, Harold Norse, Andy Warhol, Robert Nichols, Tom Clark, Paul Blackburn, Michael McClure, Diane di Prima, John Giorno, Tuli Kupferberg, Parker Tyler, John Perreault, Frank Zappa, Gerard Malanga, Leonora Kandel, and Dick Gallup.

This copy is in Very Good ++ condition with light wear and small chips to the covers, and a corner crease on the rear cover.
