The Limberlost Review No. 13 -- Two First Appearance Charles Bukowski Poems (1984)
Published in 1984, The Limberlost Review No. 13 featured the Bukowski poems:
Free Coffee
The Gamblers
Free Coffee earlier appeared in Dangling in the Tournefortia (1981).
The Gamblers would later be collected in What Matters Most Is How Well You Walk Through The Fire (1999).
Also included is a broadside/postcard poem by Rick Ardinger, who on the back writes a note to Al (most likely to collector Al Berlinski, but perhaps Al Fogel) discussing Bukowski film projects “Barfly” and “Tales of Ordinary Madness”.
This copy is in Fine condition as well as the postcard.
The Limberlost Press would also publish two Bukowski broadsides, The Cage and PASTORAL, the later suppressed by Bukowski’s editor John Martin.
Published out of Hailey, Idaho, by Rick and Rosemary Ardinger, The Limberlost Press is one of those hidden gems that was created for all the right reasons.
