The Drowning 1/26 Copies for “The friends of John Martin” (2002)

Here’s a beautifully produced broadside by the legendary Bill Roberts and his Bottle of Smoke Press. Bottle of Smoke Press has produced seven Bukowski broadsides since 2003, as well as countless other artists.

Featuring the poem, the drowning, this is one of only 26 copies produced in 2007 for “The friends of John Martin” and approved by Linda Lee Bukowski. The poem was published only once in “The Southern Poetry Review'” in 1965.

It consists of a 10” x 8” facsimile of the manuscript for the poem with a deckled bottom edge, mounted on a tan piece of heavy stock (measuring approximately 11” x 8.5”) and folded once.
