Quixote 12 -- Two Early First Appearance Charles Bukowski Poems (1956)

Published in 1956, Bukowski’s poems in Quixote 12 marked only his 10^th known appearance in a literary magazine.

You Smoke A Cigarette

These Things would not appear again for 13 years when it was published in The Days Run Away Like Wild Horses Over The Hills (1969)

Meanwhile, You Smoke A Cigarette would appear for 33 years until 1988’s The Roominghouse Madrigals.

There is also a very interesting early bio in the Contributors section.

Miraculously, this copy is in Near Fine + condition with gentle wear to the covers and a tiny chip to the lower spine. Binding is tight and appears to be unread.

Overall, a beautiful copy of this uncommon poetry journal edited by Jean Rikhoff Hill out of Devonshire, England.
