The short-lived New York Free Press was an attempt to replicate the success of the Los Angeles Free Press, but only lasted about a year. It was published by Jack Banning and started asa community newspaper owned by Upper West Side liberals.
Like other weeklies, the New York Free Press reprinted Charles Bukowski's "Notes of a Dirty Old Man" column from Open City.
Published on December 29, 1968, this copy features a lengthy Dirty Old Man column about Bukowski and his landlords.
This copy is in Very Good ++ condition with the back page missing from being clipped. The column itself is untouched. Someone also wrote the date of publication in pen on the front cover.
All in all, a solid and attractive copy of this scarce weekly.
