Long Shot was published by actor Sean Penn. Bukowski was friends with Penn (and Madonna who he wed in 1985). Bukowski was a bit disappointed when the two young millionaires assumed he would pay for dinner the first time they went out, and Penn was disappointed when Bukowski did not pick him to play Chinaski in Barfly. Bu the two kept in touch until Bukowski’s death and there are some great photographs of the two together.
Bukowski would appear in five issues of this literary journal edited by Danny Shot out of New Brunswick, New Jersey.
