EPOS Vol. 11, No. 2 -- First Appearance of The Death Of A Roach (1959)
Published in 1959, EPOS Vol. 11, No. 2, featured the Bukowski poem:
The Death Of A Roach
The poem would later appear Cold Dogs in the Courtyard (1965) and Betting on the Muse (1996).
EPOS: A Quarterly of Poetry was a journal edited by Evelyn Thorne and Will Tullos out of Cresent City, Florida. The first issue appeared in Fall 1949 and was published until the 1970s.
Bukowski would appear in 12 issues of EPOS between 1959 and 1970. One 'extra' issue of Epos was entirely devoted to Bukowski, entitled "Poems and Drawings". Released in 1962, it is considered Bukowski's sixth poetry collection.
This issue represents Bukowski’s 34th appearance in any poetry journal.
This copy is in Near Fine condition with some inevitable light sunning to the edge of covers.
Overall, a beautiful copy of this early supporter of Bukowski’s work.
