Published in 1968, At Terror Street and Agony Way was the first Charles Bukowski book published by Black Sparrow Press and marked the beginning of a long and fruitful relationship.

There were 800 paperback copies printed, which was a significant accomplishment for a fledgling small press. But alas, small presses sometimes have their own unique issues. In this case, the text on the cover contained the word “Sreet” instead "Street" after it was already bound and sent out. A few scarce copies were sold before the issue was remedied with a sticker placed over the original text.

An interesting small press technique used in the book was “blind stamping” where pressure from the plates leave impressions on the paper without using ink. In this case, a Bukowski letter and several of his drawings were reproduced using the technique (see photo).

The book is 89 pages in length and contains 45 Bukowski poems.

This copy is in Near Fine condition with the typical small folds to the deckled cover.

An excellent gift for a Bukowski fan and an important book in the history of small presses.
