Published by Illuminati in 1987, this is unique Charles Bukowski chapbook. It consists of a single poem in three parts. As the title implies, the poem is about one of those visits from a fellow “writer” that Bukowski always hated.
Thus, the chapbook is designed as a door, complete with a metal doorknob. The design also features deckled edges and a saddle stitch binding. It measures 3.5” x 9”.
The limitation says 225 copies were produced, but you sure don't see many around. I think John Martin must have stepped in before many could be sold.
While the design is beautiful, the doorknob often separated from the book, which appears to have happened to this copy. However, it’s not obvious. There are also some light scratches to the paper covers.
Overall, in Near Fine condition.
