This is a two-page signed and dated manuscript by Charles Bukowski.

Titled, a lady with Some French wine, the poem has never been published.

The poem appears to be about Joan Levine Gannij and a call he received from her after several years.

Gannij was an early photographer of Bukowski before he met Montfort in 1976. She’s most famous for the iconic photographs of Bukowski in front of his refrigerator.  There has been some controversy over the years concerning whether it was she or Ulvis Alberts who took the photos, but that’s a story for another day.

The photos are most famous for the woman posing with Bukowski. Her name was Georgia Hubbard and you really couldn’t have picked a better prop for that time in Bukowski’s life.

The manuscript comes with a statement of authenticity from Scott Harrison of Abandoned Planet Bookstore.
