Published in 2002, this is a very scarce broadside booklet produced by Bill Roberts. Roberts usually printed under the imprint of Bottle of Smoke Press, but in this case he published it under RMC Press.
This copy is in Fine condition and is saddle-stitched on stiff paper stock.
Bukowski wrote the poem in 1992 and it was first published in the Spring 1993 issue of Boulevard. It was later collected in Slouching Toward Nirvana, but unfortunately the title was changed to “A Conversation to Remember”.
In his book, A Catalog of Ordinary Madness, Abel Debritto asked Roberts about the booklet.
“It is not an official release and really nothing more than a little home project. It is a single poem and about 45 of them were destroyed. The remaining 5 or so are of little value, except for as a curiosity.”
I beg to differ.
